Covering about 5.3 square kilometers, the race track is shaped like the Chinese character ‘shang,’ which stands for ‘high’ or ‘above.’ The circuit is best known as the venue for the annual Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix Jiading is home to one of the best-preserved Confucius temples in the country. The Jiading Confucius Temple, located in the Jiading District, was built in the Southern Song Dynasty in 1219 AD, and has three beautiful stone bridges adorned with small lines lead into the garden where the main hall is located.
